Graduate student Hannah Altizer of the Concord University women’s track & field team has been announced as the Mountain East Conference Athlete of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office released Monday afternoon.
Altizer, a native of Riner, Virginia, was named to the honor after a strong opening weekend to the outdoor season at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.
Individually, Altizer was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter run as she posted a time of 10:59.05. She was also two separate relays for the Mountain Lions. The 4×800-meter relay, aided by Altizer, were the runners-up in a time of 10:05.44. The 4×400-meter relay finished ninth as they clocked 4:18.87.
Concord competes at the Bill Webb Invite hosted by High Point Friday and Saturday.
