Graduate student Issac Prather of the Concord University men’s track & field team has been voted as the Mountain East Conference Athlete of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Prather clocked the fastest 5,000-meter time in MEC history over the weekend at NC State’s Raleigh Relays. The Summersville, West Virginia native ran the fastest 5,000-meters time in Division II this spring with a showing of 13:57.87. He broke his own school record by nine seconds as he finished 23rd in the Division I-heavy field.

Prather and the rest of the Mountain Lions return to the track Friday and Saturday at High Point’s VertKlasse Meeting.
