MBB Drop Road Game Against Concord
Bluefield State University men’s basketball dropped a road game against Concord University 103-85 on Monday at the Carter Center.
Malik Tidwell led all scorers with 30 points followed by Kaine McColley with 22 and Jordan Hinds with 20. Hinds led the Big Blue with seven rebounds on the night.
The Big Blue got on the board first after a driving layup from McColley. After the Mountain Lions answered to even the score, Tidwell drained a three to take back the lead. The Mountain Lions took their first lead of the night and led the rest of the half. The Mountain Lions built a lead of 13 with 9:03 left in the first. The Big Blue cut the lead to four with three minutes left to go after a three-point play from hinds. The Mountain Lions built their lead to eight with 1:46 to go but the Big Blue scored the final bucket of the half to cut the lead to six.
The Big Blue opened the second with a 13-4 scoring run to take back the lead over the Mountain Lions. The Mountain Lions answered with ten consecutive points to take the eight-point lead. A three from McColley pulled the Big Blue within two of the Moutain Lions at 9:46 but the Mountain Lions offense came alive to come away with the 103-85 victory over the Big Blue.
