MBB Fall at Home

Bluefield State University men’s basketball fell to Glenville State University 99-73 at Ned E. Shott Gymnasium on Monday.

Malik Tidwell scored 14 points on the night. Landry Palata added ten points and seven rebounds. Kaine McColley and Hirotaka Ohashi both contributed four assists.

Chase Page started the scoring for the Big Blue with a corner three to take the early lead. The Pioneers began to pull away midway through the first half after a three gave them the 17-point lead.  The Big Blue pulled within 12 after back-to-back transition buckets from Khamaury McMillan and Jordan Hinds with 49 seconds left, but the Pioneers closed out the first half with five points to take the 17-point lead over the Big Blue into the half.

The Big Blue opened the second half outscoring the Pioneers 8-2 to pull within 11. The Pioneers had their largest lead of the night with three minutes remaining after a three-point play to put them ahead by 28. The Big Blue would answer with a three from Malik Lacewell, but could not overcome the previously set deficit.
