A Memorandum of Understanding between Bluefield State University and the Harding University College of Pharmacy (HUCOP) offers a process for qualifying B-State students to be admitted into the HUCOP doctor of pharmacy degree program after successfully completing an on-site or virtual interview with HUCOP.

A just-signed agreement between BSU and HUCOP will expand the selection options for BSU students who aspire to become pharmacists.

Dr. Young Kim, BSU Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Dr. Rodney Richmond, Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice at Harding University, finalized the agreement after cross-referencing BSU courses and HUCOP prerequisite courses.

“This agreement will help our current and future students who want to continue their study in a doctorate of pharmacy programs,” noted Dr. Kim.  “Now we have a clear pathway to assist them.”

By completing and achieving the required GPA in selected undergraduate courses at Bluefield State, BSU students can apply for expedited admission to the HUCOP Doctor of Pharmacy degree program, according to Dr. Kim.  “I look forward to working with Bluefield State University students who are interested in this program,” he said.
