95 percent of applicants to Bluefield State College were admitted for fall 2018

At Bluefield State College, 68 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Bluefield enrolled 1,275 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 8.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

83 percent of undergraduates are residents of West Virginia, and 16 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (86 percent) and Black or African American (7 percent).

The school admitted 95 percent of the 604 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 32 percent enrolled.
