Cost of college went up for all students at Concord University

In-state tuition and fees rose 6.2 percent for 2018-19 at Concord University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

West Virginia residents paid $8,211 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $479 more than the $7,732 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 115 percent more than residents this year, or $17,655. Their price tag grew 5 percent from $16,812 in 2017-18.

About 72 percent of the school's undergraduate population are West Virginia residents. About 23 percent are residents of other states and 5 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 401 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.7 million and 327 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,040), 1,685 students used grants or scholarships totaling $21 million, and 1,312 students took out $7.9 million in federal student loans.
