Bluefield State University Volleyball took down Ferrum 3-1 on Senior Night.
Prior to the start of the match, Taylor Sams was honored as the lone senior of the volleyball team.
The Big Blue took set one 25-23. Midway through the set, the Big Blue scored five consecutive to take the 14-10 lead: two kills from Allyson Martin, one from Lindsey Neal and Caley Pickerd. The Panthers took back the lead late in the set 18-17. The Big Blue tied it up 23-23 after a kill from Pickerd followed by an ace and kill from Kateryna Dashevska to take set one.
After falling behind 8-4 in set one, the Big Blue battled back to take the 13-12 lead over the Panthers. The Panthers took the one-point lead late in the set before the Big Blue would score four consecutive to take set two 25-22.
The Panthers would take set three 26-24, but the Big blue would take set four 25-23 to secure the victory. An Ace from Taylor Sams put the Big Blue ahead 10-8 midway through the fourth. The Panthers scored six in a row to take back the lead 15-12. The Big Blue scored three consecutive to make the score 24-22. The final point came from a miscue from the Panthers.
