The Concord University women's soccer team has put five players on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization has released.
Junior defender Olivia Bekeleski, senior defender Zoe Belding, senior forward Rachel Bell, graduate forward Leah Foster and senior midfielder Courtney Smith landed on this year's team.
Bekeleski earned All-MEC First Team this fall after helping the Mountain Lions to seven shutouts. Offensively, she scored a pair of goals and tallied an assist. Overall, Bekeleski has been named All-MEC all three years of her career. As a social work major, the Mansfield, Ohio native is on track to graduate in just three years with a GPA of 3.68.
An Academic All-American from last fall, Belding seeks to repeat this year. The Selby, England native has a 3.98 GPA as a biology major. Her on-field statistics this year included starting all 19 games for the Mountain Lions. She scored twice and passed out one assist. Like Bekeleski, Belding was an integral part to CU posting seven shutouts.
Bell, a former all-region selection, was named to this year's CSC Academic All-District Team after registering five goals and notching six assists. Two of her goals came in an upset win over nationally-ranked Frostburg State. Bell's 3.67 GPA is as a health and physical education major.
Foster is a two-time Academic All-American, both times earning second team laurels. Foster paced the Mountain Lions with a team-best 11 goals this season to go with five assists. The Wigan, England native made the All-MEC First Team for the fourth time in her career in 2022, and was a D2CCA Second Team All-Atlantic Region performer. In her first semester of graduate school, in the health promotion program, Foster graduated with a 3.86 GPA in health last spring.
Smith lands on the CSC Academic All-District Team for the first time in her career. The Fayetteville, West Virginia native was an All-American last season after dishing out 16 assists. This season, Smith netted two goals and led CU with seven assists which was also tied for third in the MEC. She carries a 3.71 GPA in the classroom as a psychology major.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must carry a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be of sophomore status in the classroom. On the field, they are to be a significant contributor to the overall team's success.
The CSC Academic All-American Teams will be released in early December
