Bluefield State University women's basketball continues a blazing start to the season with the victory over Concord.For the first time since 2015, the Big Blue took down Concord University 80-74.
Katrina Davis led the Big Blue with 24 points, seven rebounds, five steals and two assists. Gabrielle Thomas followed with 14 points, with Essence Cowan having 11 and Aerihna Afoa adding ten.
Going into the third quarter with the one-point advantage, the Big Blue scored the next eight points to extend their lead 43-36. The Big Blue had their largest lead of the night with five minutes remaining in the third after a layup from Thomas put them ahead by 13. The Mountain Lions pulled within one with a minute left in regulation. The Big Blue outscored the Mountain Lions 8-1 in the final minute to secure the victory over Concord.
