IN THE CIRCLE
In three of the four games for the Mountain Lions over the weekend, Concord allowed three runs or fewer. Sophomore pitcher Caitlyn Bauer tossed her second straight shutout with a 6-0 win over Davis & Elkins—it was the fourth of her career. Bauer is 13 strikeouts away from 200 for her career after fanning 10 batters over the weekend. In 12 innings, fellow sophomore pitcher Nancy-Jo Roberts allowed just three earned runs, but unfortunately did not pick up a win. Against West Virginia Wesleyan, Roberts allowed just five hits and retired 13 straight batters in the middle innings. Roberts leads the MEC in innings pitched with 90 while the next closest is Frostburg State's Jamie Roberts with 78.2.

RECORD WATCH
While Bauer is approaching 200 career strikeouts, senior infielder Sarah Thompson continues to vault up the offensive record books. The Prince George, Virginia native is six hits shy of passing her sister, Laura, for seventh on the career list at CU as Sarah has 177 career hits. With a double versus Davis & Elkins Saturday, Thompson moved into a tie for fifth in career two-base hits with Lacey McDougall (2012-15) with 41. And with four at-bats on Wednesday, Thompson will eclipse 550 in her career, sixth in program history. Thompson had three hits—and singles—and three RBI in four games versus Glenville State last season. Sophomore utility Kylee Stacy is now tied for ninth in stolen bases in program history with 26.

NAIL BITERS
Concord and Glenville State split four games in 2021 as the home team notched a doubleheader sweep. Bauer was sharp in the circle in shutting out GSU, 2-0, in the first game last season in Athens. The Lexington, North Carolina native tallied 10 strikeouts and held the Pioneers to two hits in what was her second career shutout. L. Thompson bagged an RBI double while sophomore outfielder Delaney Fulk scored on a wild pitch. Sophomore infielder Courtney Raines was 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 7-3 game two victory. Stacy scored three runs and stole two bases.  The Mountain Lions were clipped by the Pioneers on the road, 3-2 and 6-5. In the nightcap, sophomore pitcher/outfielder Rachael Koller paced the offense with three hits. Sophomore first baseman Kassidy Garvey registered two RBI.

GLENVILLE STATE AT A GLANCE
Overall Record 10-14
MEC Record: 3-5
Home Record 6-5
Away Record 2-3
Neutral Record: 2-6

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Glenville State snapped a four-game losing streak with a pair of shutouts over Davis & Elkins Sunday afternoon. Holly Brehm continues to be one of the best pitchers in the MEC as she leads the MEC with 97 strikeouts, 22 more than West Virginia Wesleyan's Hannah Hudson. Brehm's four shutouts are tied for first in the conference. Katelyn Richardson has hit two home runs and driven in 10 runs. Shelby McDaniels has a team-best .333 average while adding eight RBI.
