13.5% of citizens unemployed in McDowell County in 2021

McDowell County recorded an unemployment rate of 13.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 591 people out of the 19,334 living in McDowell County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in McDowell County has decreased compared to the 15% registered in 2020.
